THOUGHTS OF REFLECTION
I have seen much in my life. I witnessed celebrity parties. I experienced millions in deposits. I met with prime ministers, premiers and presidents of various nations. I spoke with business moguls who you’ve admired. I’ve held discussions with moguls you hate. I dined with entertainment executives and stars. I’ve introduced my ex-wife to Beyonce’s mother on a plane trip back to Houston. I once rode on plane trip from D.C. with James Brown.
Self proclaimed millionaires were once my entourage. Dodgy billionaires my extended circle. Foreign dignitaries were once my colleagues. Mafia persons were people who sought to kill my family. Terrorists were my enemies.
Soldiers, sailors and airmen were my compatriots. I’ve been a distinguished graduate, a decorated military member and an outstanding service member.
I’ve seen a gauntlet from a hell week. I’ve been embossed in a fire of a crucible. I’ve been purposefully drowned, stabbed and nearly shot in the face at close range. I’ve watched federal agents raid my house. I’ve entered stand offs with armed assailants.
I’ve been purposefully betrayed. I’ve had false testimony borne against me so a testifier could escape accountability. Once a man tried to cut my head off in the middle east. Another time a man tried to blow me up with an improvised explosive.
I watched fear end my marriage. I watched hope briefly restore another marriage. I’ve held my dead new born son as he took his final breaths. I’ve wiped the tears from my living daughter wondering if she will ever see me again. I’ve been accused of adultery. I’ve been thanked for always being loyal. I’ve chosen to trade away my freedom. I’ve fought to protect it.
I’ve written about outlandish accounts that are hardly true. I’ve also told tales which were true that most assumed were tall tales. I’ve refused mentorship when I needed it. I’ve accepted it with humility later.
I have met famous people you see on television more than I can count. I have close friends who should be famous. I’ve known equity my entire life — and recently discovered a life now defined by virtue without equity.
I once modeled my life off what the world has to offer. I now see the world has no thing to offer. No thing cannot owned — merely borrowed for a time. I once possessed all sorts of things. I now know what it is to have no thing; which is not the same as nothing.
I have witnessed miracles. I have seen spiritual beings. I’ve had inexplicable experiences which defy logic. I have discussed science with the soul surviving grand son of Howard Hughes. I’ve also talked biology with leading scientific researchers.
My friends still include a billionaire, some millionaires, youths, elders, medical doctors, scientists, fellow authors, former super bowl athletes, my pastor and spiritual guides.
My life has taken me across 33 countries; although I can only seem to remember 24 of them without my passport book.
I’ve learned moments are not the same as memories. Memories stay with you while moments pass you by. I’ve felt insulted only to later realize insult is subjective. I’ve felt hurt later to realize pain doesn’t need to hurt.
I have lived my entire life on my own terms. I’ve always chosen my own path. The choices I’ve made are the ones I must live with. Now I must learn to live on the terms of others. I offer a simple prayer. One that I hope reaches the right ears, at the right time and at the right place. Maybe not through any natural means but through a supernatural means.
MY FINAL 24 PRAYER
“God let the ones who judge be just. Let the ones who decide bring about peace. Let peace be the result of all choices. I pray discernment bestow to those who decide so that they may know how to distinguish narrative from observation. Let wisdom touch the one who requires it. Let the virtues of mercy, justice and reformation be the consequence of all judgments. Let noble intentions be noble. Let ill intentions receive their punishment. Let lies rest on the burdens of those who speak them. Let truth rest on the souls who deserve them. Make me an instrument to redeem, restore and reinvigorate those affected by malice. Let the path of transformation you have set me unto be one that restores those negatively affected by my choices. Grant me the resources, wisdom, discernment and ability to do what has never been done before — to offer true restitution to all those affected by this situation so that I might receive a complete redemption from you. For with you all things are possible God. You make your power known through the weak, the destitute and the unlikely. Though I may be made weak, destitute and be the most unlikely person to do this — I pray you make it so. Forever and always I pray in your name alone God.”
CLOSING VERSE
The Final Testament. The Holy Quran. Sura [25:70-71] Exempted are those who repent, believe, and lead a righteous life. GOD transforms their sins into credits. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. Those who repent and lead a righteous life, God redeems them, a complete redemption.
